The challenge
The work covered De Nederlandsche Bank's locations in Amsterdam, Utrecht and Amersfoort. During the renovation of the head office, cable and pipe penetrations, escape routes, and the load-bearing steel structure had to be reassessed and repaired where necessary, while parts of the building remained in use.
Our approach
In close coordination with the facility department, we first mapped out the existing situation with an inventory. Based on that, we carried out fire-resistant seals, doors, and steel cladding in phases, always outside busy office hours to limit disruption.
The result
The WBDBO requirements have been demonstrably brought up to standard in accordance with the Besluit bouwwerken leefomgeving, recorded in a complete delivery file and logbook. The project was completed within the set renovation schedule.

At handover, the client received all certificates. Every provision we installed has been recorded, and we keep those records up to date.
The delivery file and the logbook cover the fire-resistant seals, doors and steel cladding that were carried out in phases during the renovation.
A certificate alone does not prove that a provision is right. What also matters is where and how the product was applied. That is why the record for each provision states which system was installed where. This lets the owner show that the fire protection provisions are present and correctly installed.
Is there an inspection by the municipality, fire service or insurer, or is a pipe or cable added later? Then the file shows straight away which system is where, so that a seal that has been opened can be restored with a suitable system.

When renovating a building that stays in use, an inventory beforehand shows which penetrations, doors and structural parts need to be repaired. This makes it possible to plan the work in phases and outside busy hours.
