Fire-resistant glass makes it possible to create fire and smoke compartments without boarding up a building. Stairwells, office partition walls, and escape routes remain bright and open, while fire and smoke cannot spread unimpeded.
We supply and install fire-resistant glass with an EI classification (flame- and smoke-tight, thermally insulating) of 30 or 60 minutes, matching the requirements of your compartmentalization and in combination with suitable frame systems.

Fire-resistant glass is priced per m2 and depends heavily on the classification (EI 30 or EI 60), the dimensions of the panels, the frame system, and whether the existing frame can remain in place. Large, divisible panels and standard sizes are more cost-effective than custom on-site work. We quote inclusive of frame, glazing, and installation.
Common mistakes
- Installing fire-resistant glass in an untested frame system; classification only applies to the tested combination.
- Replacing glazing seals and hardware with non-certified parts during later maintenance.
- Assuming that fire-resistant glass is also smoke-resistant or burglar-resistant without explicitly specifying this.
