Rotterdam builds high and dense. In the residential towers around Kop van Zuid and the Centraal District, the offices on the Coolsingel, and the commercial buildings in the port area, strict requirements apply to compartmentalization, escape routes, and integration with climate and ventilation systems.
In Rotterdam we do a lot of work in housing association residential complexes: we map the defects together with the supervisor, have our findings reviewed by an external consultant and then make the building fire-safe home by home.
We have also worked on new high-rise construction, including the Cooltower near the Witte de Withstraat: a residential tower of more than 150 metres with luxury apartments. There we installed fire-resistant glass while preserving natural light, fitted fire dampers in coordination with the installer and built the separating structures between the different functions.
